Washington judge grants preliminary injunction against Kalshi

A Washington state court judge granted state officials a preliminary injunction against prediction market operator Kalshi on Monday. In a King County Superior Court order issued on July 20, Judge John McHale determined that the company "operates an online betting platform" and misleads state consumers by advertising, according to SBC Americas.
The move is the latest court win for state authorities versus the prediction market platform. The injunction was granted to state officials as part of ongoing legal action spelled out in the King County order.
