UK government demands clarity from Gambling Commission over FRAs

The UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has demanded answers from the Gambling Commission over a recently published update to its Financial Risk Assessments (FRAs). The department is seeking clarity on the content and presentation of the FRA update.

The request was made in a letter to Sarah Gardner, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Gambling Commission. Dame Caroline Dinenage MP, chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, wrote the letter and outlined five points for the regulator to address. The move puts the Gambling Commission under direct scrutiny from the DCMS over the FRA update.

Player angle: Clarification from the regulator on Financial Risk Assessments could affect how the sector is overseen, a development players who follow industry rules should watch. Check our fast payout casinos guide before putting money anywhere.
