LatAm becomes Betsson’s biggest market in Q2 as it eyes further M&A

LatAm became Betsson’s biggest market in Q2, the operator said, marking a shift in where the group now earns its largest business. The change to Latin America as the top region was reported alongside comments on the company’s deal strategy.

Speaking to iGaming Business, Betsson CEO Pontus Lindwall said a new €75 million credit facility "served the operator's M&A strategy." He said the facility is intended to fund further deals as part of that strategy.

Lindwall added the funding could be used either to enter new markets or to acquire valuable technologies, and the operator is eyeing further M&A activity in the region.

Player angle: Why it matters: Ongoing M&A and a dedicated credit facility could lead to more localised games, partnerships and technology rollouts that affect player choice in LatAm. Our casino bonuses guide has the up-to-date picture.
