Alberta’s iGaming Market Fires Off with 50 Operators

Alberta has become the second province in Canada to fully launch its license-based online gambling, with the market getting underway on Monday, July 13, 2026, according to Gambling News. At the time of the launch a total of 50 operators had completed the registration process, forming the initial pool of licensed participants. The rollout was described as Alberta dipping its toe into the regulated market.

The launch coincides with the World Cup and is expected to get a significant early boost from the tournament, the report adds. The 50 registered operators set the opening scale for Alberta’s license-based iGaming market and mark a notable expansion of regulated online gambling in Canada.
